Heather's experience with dogs spans nearly 4 decades and includes working with numerous breeds from Toy Dogs to Terriers, Rottweilers to Retrievers, Spaniels to Shih Tzu's, and all types in between. "A dog's Functional Character and breed/type predispositions play their part in a dog's behaviour, but a dog's individual character is what makes them so interesting to work with" says Heather.
Heather trained her first dog in 1962 and started to compete in Obedience in 1979. In 1987 she set up her first dog training classes, helping dog owners to train and better understand
their pets, and in 1989 she co-founded
the Fenland Dog Training Club in Cambridgeshire.
After becoming a Committee Member of the British Rottweiler
Association in 1990, Heather took
over as trainer for the club in the mid-90's. Also around this time, Heather was introduced to clicker training and has used it ever since with all her own dogs, most of whom have been rescues with behaviour problems ranging from jumping up to severe aggression.

Heather
started to compete in Heelwork to Music
in 2002 and came 2nd
in her first competition, and after a move to North Yorkshire that same year,
Heather set up another dog training
school in 2003 - We Train Any Dog.
Qualifying as a Reiki
Practitioner in 2005, Heather started
to use this wonderful healing method to help with her rescue dog rehabilitation, and in 2014 she attained the level of Reiki Master.
Becoming a Master Trainer Member of the Guild of Dog Trainers in 2007, and a Full Member of the Canine & Feline Behaviour Association in 2008, placed Heather in an elite class of dog behaviour specialists.

"Training with the late, great Police Dog Instructor, Roy Hunter was one of the highlights for me" says Heather, who has also worked with myriad other Police Dog Instructors and Handlers, having worked for a Police Force in East Anglia prior to her move to North Yorkshire in 2002.
Heather has a Full CRB Disclosure, an A' Level in Business Management (NVQ Level 3), and up-to-date certificates for Canine First Aid and Dog Law.
